Elections

Every four years, the City is required by legislation to conduct elections for its municipal council.

Qualified electors of the City of Trail elect the following positions:

• one (1) Mayor
• six (6) Councillors
• two (2) School Trustees to the Board of School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia)

The next election takes place on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
