Position Overview:
The Lifeguard / Instructor at the Trail Aquatic and Leisure Centre provides a safe, enjoyable aquatic experience for users of the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre through public education, quality customer service and prevention of water accidents. Hours of work may include evening, daytime and weekend shifts.
Qualifications:
Provide the following minimum current awards:
- NLS (National Lifeguard)
- Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
- CPR C
- Lifesaving Society Instructor
- AEC (Aquatic Emergency Care) or equivalent (Standard First Aid)
Desirable:
- Pool Operator Level 1
- BC Drivers Licence
- WHMIS
- Aquatic Fitness Instructor (BCRPA, CALA, YMCA or CFES)
- WCB First Aid - Level 1
- Food Safe
Position Information:
- Wage Rate: $25.49 / hr
- Status: CUPE Local 2087 - Part-Time
- Benefits: As per the Collective Agreement
