We are very proud to call this unique and culturally rich West Kootenay town our home. We’ve spent considerable time revisiting the future of our city and have already made huge strides with the construction of some new amenities. Council continues its dedication to making Trail a great place live, work and play.
Stroll or bike over one of the longest suspension pedestrian bridges of its kind in North America, the Columbia River Skywalk! This 1000 ft. signature structure is part of the Trans Canada Trail Society’s vast Great Trail network and is known for its breathtaking views of the river and mountains. If you’re feeling energetic, loop the Skywalk with the Victoria Street Bridge for a 2km trek. You’ll be sure to meet some of our friendly locals along the way.
The Trail Riverfront Centre, an integrated library, museum and visitor centre is Trail’s hub for learning, culture and local information. From the outside, you’ll notice the building’s unique architectural design; from the inside, you’ll experience state-of-art programs, engaging exhibits and a spectacular view of the mighty Columbia River.
We recently opened the Trail SK8 Park at Gyro Park. This family-friendly all ages amenity also overlooks the Columbia River and is equipped with 13 features including a large bowl, half pipes and rails.
Our new spacious and modern terminal building at the Trail Regional Airport is equipped with a business lounge, a kids corner, and ample short and long-term parking. The new facility accommodates 22,000+ yearly travelers with reliable and affordable daily service to Vancouver and beyond. The sky’s the limit!
We are also known for our annual multi-day celebration, Trail Silver City Days. Carnival rides, a parade, fireworks, live entertainment, street food, and a bocce tournament are just some of the fun activities that we plan! The event takes place in May over the Mother's day weekend.
You'll find all this information and more as you experience our website. Visitors to the area can view our tourism website for places to stay, places to eat and drink, and things to do.
