Downtown Wayfinding

The City of Trail offers a wayfinding signage opportunity to downtown businesses that are located on the downtown side of the main highway corridor (Victoria Street). 6 wayfinding signs per street pillar, located on Pine, Cedar and Bay Avenue, are available for a 2-year* lease.

The 2023 intake is postponed until further notice.
*The first 2-year term (August 2020 - August 2022) is full. New applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Business owners who applied for the 2020 intake, and who were unsuccessful in the lottery, will be considered before any new or repeating applicants.

Signs, cost and terms

The top signs (3 available per pillar) are 4’ 6” wide by 10“ high and include your business name and logo. The space for the logo is 8” by 8“ and is available in one colour only (as shown in the example). Signs are double-sided. 2-year term, $100*
The bottom signs (3 available per pillar) are 4‘ 1” wide by 8.2“ high and include your business name. Signs are double-sided. 2-year term, $60*

Program eligibility

Eligible businesses hold a current City of Trail Business Licence, are located within the downtown side of the main Victoria Street highway corridor in Trail (businesses located directly on the highway corridor/Victoria street are not eligible), are open for business at least five days a week, twelve months a year, and dedicate business to one of the following categories: Retail, Hospitality, Arts or Health & Professional Services or Other Services.
If the number of applications per pillar exceeds the number of signs available, businesses will be chosen according to their chosen category through a transparent lottery system so each category is fairly represented. Those businesses not chosen will be placed on a waiting list and will be considered at the end of the first term.
One (1) sign only per eligible business, based on application and availability.
