The 2025 Citizen of the Year is: Teresa Mandoli
For decades, this year’s Trail/Warfield Citizen of the Year has quietly shaped community life through service, faith, and
dedication.
Her lifelong commitment to Girl Guides of Canada spans 35 years, from earning the Canada Cord as a girl to leading units, serving as district commissioner, and mentoring young women across generations. Her Guiding spirit was recognized with the Eva Wrangler “Tiger Lily Award,” honouring her as a role model who lives the true heart of Guiding.
Equally devoted to her faith community, she has spent nearly three decades serving through the Catholic Women’s League and Holy Trinity Parish. She has led councils, organized gatherings, supported families in times of joy and grief, and contributed countless hours behind the scenes. From sewing baptismal stoles to coordinating liturgies and festivals, her care is sewn into the life of the parish.
Through recreation, service clubs, and community leadership, she shows up wherever help is needed.
Each May, a nominated individual who resides in either Warfield or Trail, is chosen for the citizen of the year award. The citizen of the year is chosen on the following criteria.
