Health care in the Greater Trail area
Health care needs in the Greater Trail area are provided by Interior Health (IH), as well as various private health care providers and non-profit community services.
Services are delivered through a regional network of care that includes hospitals, community health centres, residential assisted living facilities, mental health housing, primary health clinics, homes, schools, and other community settings.
- IH has established a central Patient Care Quality Office to receive, record, track and resolve complaints through their Health Service Area Patient Care Quality Officers.
- Contact them Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm at 1-877-442-2001.
- The KB Fetch online directory assists the general public, agency staff, physicians, health care providers, and others to quickly and easily find Community, health, social, government and a wide range of other services for Kootenay Boundary residents.
- The directory can also be searched for services of specific interest to Trail & Area residents.
- IH has a dedicated phone line for those seeking community mental health and substance abuse (MHSU) supports. 310-MHSU (6478)
- Calls to 310-MHSU will connect callers to the appropriate service within their community.
- More information is available on the IH website.
