The City's water treatment and distribution system is designed and maintained to deliver clean, safe and reliable drinking water to homes and businesses throughout the community. The City also maintains the Sanitary Sewer and the Storm Sewer Collection Systems; however, the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary provides Wastewater Treatment at Columbia Pollution Control Centre, located in Waneta.
The City provides safe, clean water daily to all its residents and businesses, thanks to pipes, pumps, plants, and people:
The City’s Water Quality report, which the British Columbia Drinking Water Act requires, gives information about how the City is doing, with regard to the water you drink and use every day. The City is proud to report that our water is of very high quality, consistently meeting and/or exceeding the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.
Pursuant to the British Columbia Drinking Water Act and the City's annual Drinking Water Permit issued by Interior Health, the City's annual Drinking Water Report is made available to the public here: 2024 Annual Water Quality Report.
