On Thursday, January 8, 2026, starting at 7:30 a.m. there will be a water service interruption for residents and businesses of Highway Drive (2700-3200 blocks), Iris Crescent (3100 block) & Lilac Crescent (3200 block) (see map) to accommodate the repair of a water-main.
The interruption will continue until the repair has been completed, it is expected to last the full day. Prepare in advance by having water on hand. Consider filling your bathtub to use as a water source to fill the back of your toilets...

The contract to rebuild Dewdney Avenue has been awarded to Brenton Industries Ltd., in the amount of $887,019.60 exclusive of GST. Construction is scheduled to begin following Silver City Days (on or after May 19, 2026) with a tentative completion date of end of July 2026. This rebuild will improve infrastructure reliability and road safety in the area.

Due to an emergency water-line break, there will be a water service interruption for residents of the 1000 block of Regan Crescent to accommodate the repair. The interruption will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. on December 31, 2025, and continue until the repair has been completed. Consider filling your bathtub to use as a water source to fill the back of your toilets. As a precaution, please boil any water collected for consumption in advance of the interruption.

On Saturday, January 17, students from J.L. Crowe will pick up Christmas trees at designated locations within each neighbourhood. See the locations listed below or shown on the map at www.trail.ca/TreePickUp.
Students will pass through your area only once, so please ensure your tree is placed at a designated location prior to Saturday, January 17, 2026.
If your tree is missed, you may dispose of it yourself at the McKelvey Creek Regional Landfill. Fees may apply.

This is a reminder that any residential utility account with an outstanding balance as of December 31, 2025 will be subject to a 10% penalty on the remaining balance. The balance will also be transferred to your property tax account, where daily interest will begin to accrue.
To avoid these additional charges, ensure payment is received before City Hall closes on December 31, 2025. City Hall will be closed December 22–26 and will reopen on December 29.
