The City's Zoning Bylaw regulates the use and development of property in the City.
Before considering locating any business in a commercial area or planning any kind of construction, check with the Corporate Administrator for the current zoning of the property to determine what can and cannot be carried out on the premises.
When conflicts exist with the Zoning Bylaw, a person may apply to Council for a rezoning of the property or the Board of Variance if a conflict exists with the siting of buildings on a property.
To learn how to request an amendment to Land Use Bylaws (Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw) the issuance of a development variance permit, or appeals to the Board of Variance, visit the Land Development and Variances section of our website.
