Plans and Mission

The City of Trail will use public parks and recreation services as a vehicle for achieving socially worthwhile goals and objectives in our City, where the achievement of such goals and objective clearly results in some form of indirect benefit, or public good, to all citizens.

To achieve this mission, the City of Trail is committed to using leisure services to foster a sense of community identity, spirit, pride and culture; as well as, to use leisure services to foster growth of individuals so they can become the best that they can be.

Outside of regular operations, the Trail Parks & Recreation Department is guided in decision making by the key recommendations and decision making framework as outlined in the Trail Parks & Recreation Master Plan (2013).
