Trail’s aquatic centre scheduled to reopen after extended shutdown

The Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre’s main pool, leisure pool, whirlpool and steam room will reopen on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 after an extended shutdown period. Aquatic programs will resume the week of November 17, including swim lessons, aqua-fit classes and public swim sessions.

Those registered for fall aquatic programs have been contacted with options to withdraw for a full refund, or receive a partial-refund and complete the remaining sessions. There are some spaces available in the fall swim lessons; call the facility (250-364-0858) to register.

The Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre annual shutdown is a necessary part of keeping the facility running safely and efficiently. This period allows for deep cleanings, essential maintenance, and upgrades that improve users’ experiences. In 2025, the shutdown period had to be extended due to the unexpected failure of critical mechanical equipment during system start-up.

Trail Parks and Recreation appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as we invest in the long-term care of a facility that’s nearing 30 years of service.
