Sewermain replacement project begins on Bowser Street

The City of Trail is moving forward with essential infrastructure upgrades as work begins on the Bowser Street Sewermain Replacement Project. The contract has been awarded to SIMM Excavating, with construction scheduled to continue through to the end of October.

To facilitate the work, the top of Fifth Avenue Hill (map) will be closed to vehicle traffic for the duration of the project. Emergency access will be maintained for residents along Sixth Avenue Lane, and pedestrian access will be accommodated where safe.

Construction will take place Monday through Saturday between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. No work is planned for Sundays or statutory holidays unless otherwise approved.

The contractor will notify affected residents in advance of any water service interruptions, which will be limited to a maximum of eight hours and scheduled between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays.

This project addresses a section of aging sewermain that has reached the end of its service life. Crews will be replacing approximately 38 metres of sanitary pipe, installing two new concrete manholes, and restoring road, sidewalk, and boulevard surfaces to meet modern standards.
