Senior Lifeguard/Instructor (Permanent Full-Time)

The City of Trail is seeking a qualified individual to fill the permanent full-time position of Senior Lifeguard/Instructor at the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre.

Under the supervision of the Aquatic Coordinator, the Senior Lifeguard/Instructor performs lifeguarding, swimming instruction, custodial and program responsibilities.  This position assists with staff development and is responsible for the safety of users and day to day facility operations.  In the absence of the Head Guard and Aquatic Coordinator, the Senior Lifeguard/Instructor assists with the coordination of day to day facility operations, programs, special events, supervision of staff and maintenance duties.

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
• National Lifeguard Service (NLS)
• Lifesaving Society Instructor (LSI)
• AED/CPR – Level C
• AEC/SFA

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• National Lifeguard Service Instructor
• Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer
• First Aid Instructor
• Aquatic Supervisor Training
• Pool Operator – Level 1

This position is within the CUPE Local 2087 Bargaining Unit.  Wages are $23.96 per hour.
