Request for Proposal: Park Concession Services

The City’s Gyro Park amenities include pedestrian walkways, a waterpark, the Trail Sk8 Park, public beach, boat launch, playground, picnic tables, public washrooms, and large green spaces used for community events and social gatherings. The site is home to various community events including Music in Park which occurs on a weekly basis during the summer months. The concession building is easily accessed from all amenities and includes covered picnic tables for the public’s enjoyment. This is the premiere park for the City and it is very popular with families and for group events.

The City is looking for a concessionaire that will operate and maintain the concession within Gyro Park and some special events at Haley Park, providing an attractive level of food and beverage services to park users. The concessionaire would be the exclusive user of the concession spaces.

At Gyro Park, concession services will be expected to be offered at a minimum on the following schedule:

May – open for scheduled events only
June – Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Music in the Park), Saturdays/Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
July/August – every day from 11:00am-7:00pm
September – open for scheduled events only

The City is seeking a concession operator who can maximize a return to the City by offering consistent, highly competent concession management and a product offering which responds to the expected park clientele.

The City wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement for services with a concession operator unless mutually agreed to otherwise. An agreement will be used to describe the terms and conditions of the services with the successful Proponent.

The City will be accepting Proposals until March 14 at 2:00pm. We encourage prospective operators to review the Request for Proposal located on the City’s website carefully.
