The City of Trail is seeking a people and customer service oriented individual to fill a contract Skate Patrol / Attendant position with the Parks and Recreation Department for the public skating sessions at the Trail Memorial Centre. This contract position requires the candidate to have flexibility in their personal schedules and the ability to work evenings and weekends. This contract position is scheduled for a minimum of three shifts per week at 11/2 – 2 hours per shift. The best candidate will be scheduled to start in October 2023 and will end March 2024 (possibly extending into April).
Primary Responsibilities Include
Provide exceptional public service and ability to work well with the public.
Cash handling experience and the understanding of accountability with financial transactions.
Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and possesses sound decision making/problem solving skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow co-workers.
Ability to effectively deal with conflict and enforce facility policies.
Desire to participate and/or plan creative, skating based special events. This would include interacting with people of all ages and engaging them in a fun, positive skating experience.
Sound skating ability and knowledge of safe skating practices.
Must be certified in first aid/CPR, and have the ability to handle emergency situations.
Wages Wages are per contract agreement and based on a per session amount.=
