Position Overview:
The Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the City’s infrastructure and municipal services, working under the guidance of the Manager of Engineering and Projects. This position combines technical expertise with project coordination, contributing to the planning, design, and maintenance of roads, utilities, parks, and public facilities. Responsibilities include preparing design drawings and cost estimates, conducting field surveys, managing records and GIS systems, and assisting with capital and maintenance programs. The role also involves reviewing development proposals, providing technical advice to staff and the public, and ensuring compliance with City standards and bylaws. Ideal candidates will thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, and be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
