The City of Trail is seeking a seasoned financial leader to join our team as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer. This role offers a clear succession plan, positioning you to lead our Finance team within 2-3 years.
Reporting directly to the CAO/CFO, the Deputy CFO will serve as a crucial member of the management team, ensuring the efficient operation and supervision of all resource aspects of the Finance Department, including: accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and benefits, cemetery, utility billing, property tax, financial reporting and budget functions. The Deputy CFO will work with all departments to provide professional expertise, advice and assistance as required.

The ideal candidate will have a professional accounting designation (CPA) in good standing or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and a minimum five year’s progressively responsible accounting experience in a municipal finance or a similar government environment, including at least two years in a supervisory or management role.
The position offers a targeted salary range of $115,000 to $123,000 annually, supplemented by a competitive benefits package designed to attract and retain top talent in municipal leadership.
