City of Trail welcomes new staff at City Hall

The City of Trail is pleased to announce that two experienced and optimistic locals have joined the team at City Hall.

"We’re starting 2024 with excitement,” said Colin McClure, Trail’s chief administrative officer and chief financial officer. “My optimism about Trail continues to grow, especially having expanded our team with these two individuals.

Tracey Butler is the new general manager of corporate services and administration. She comes to the City of Trail from serving in previous municipal positions: nine years at the City of Castlegar as director of corporate services, and 20 years in Rossland as a corporate officer and deputy chief administrative officer. Butler is described by previous colleagues at the City of Castlegar as steadfast, a rock in turbulent times, and a good leader.

Claire Samulak is the new communications and events coordinator. Samulak spent the last few years coordinating media relations, community engagement events and advertising for Columbia Basin Trust. She draws from a wealth of regional knowledge and a strong public relations skillset. Previous colleagues describe Samulak as a community-minded and high-performance professional.
