The City of Trail has established two select committees: the Trail Regional Airport Advisory Committee and the Official Community Plan (OCP) Advisory Committee. These two committees represent exciting opportunities for the City and those interested in becoming a member are encouraged to read the Terms of Reference and submit a letter of introduction and expression of interest to City of Trail's General Manager of Corporate Services and Administration, Tracey Butler: tbutler@trail.ca.
The Trail Regional Airport is a Select Committee established in accordance with Section 142 of the Community Charter. The mandate of this Committee is to serve in an advisory capacity to Council by providing insight, make recommendations, and foster new partnerships to improve services, facilities and advancements at the Trail Regional Airport. City of Trail Mayor and Council will be undertaking a significant project over the next 12 months, the renewal of the OCP, which represents an opportunity to have a positive social, economic, and environmental impact on how the community grows and changes over time. While the OCP renewal process will involve a professional external consultant to guide this important work, the need for ongoing community input is also recognized as fundamental to the success of a new OCP, expected to be adopted by Mayor and Council in late 2024. Within their mandate, the Committee is to guide the OCP review process, and to ensure that it is innovative, inclusive and tailored to the needs of the community. City of Trail thanks all applicants for their interest and will only reply to those selected to move forward in the recruitment process.
