
The City of Trail’s current OCP was adopted in 2001. Since then, Trail has experienced significant changes in population, economy, and environmental priorities. The community’s needs, values, and aspirations for growth and development have also evolved.
As a result, an updated OCP is needed to reflect the community’s current long-term vision, goals, and objectives. The revised OCP will:
The process includes meaningful engagement with residents, businesses, government agencies, and community organizations to ensure the new OCP reflects the shared values and aspirations of Trail.
Community input has been essential in shaping the early stages of the OCP update.
In 2024, the City hosted an Open House and initial survey to introduce the project, share background information, and gather initial community feedback on key issues and priorities.
Input received from residents, stakeholders, and community groups has been summarized in the “What We Heard” Report, which identifies the themes, opportunities, and challenges that will help guide the next stages of OCP development.
