Councillor Robert Cacchioni was born and raised in Trail and with the exception of his university experience and three years teaching in the North, he has lived in this wonderful city for many years. Robert taught school in Castlegar and Trail and spent his last 10 years teaching at JL Crowe High School. He was a passionate teacher spending 39 years in the school system. He returned to Trail in 1974 to look after his mother after his father's death. He is married to his wonderful wife, Sheena who together have seven children. His focus has always been and will always be to provide the citizens of Trail with the most comprehensive service at the lowest possible cost. He is committed to Trail and has spent thirteen years on City Council trying always to make the best decisions for the community as a whole.
Robert continues to support clubs, groups and community organizations who act to make our community a better place for all who live here.
Robert is a member of the Major Industrial Property Tax Committee, is Chairperson of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, and Council’s alternate appointee to the Trail Historical Society. As the Council representative to the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary Board, Robert is Chairperson of the Utilities Committee, Chairperson of the Steering Committee for Stage 2 of the Liquid Waste Management Plan, Vice-Chairperson of the East End Services Committee, Vice-Chairperson of the Solid Waste Committee, elected representative of the West Kootenay Transit Committee and the advisor to the Finance Department.
