Position Overview:
The City of Trail Parks and Recreation Department is seeking energetic, enthusiastic and people-oriented individuals who are available for employment as a Lifeguard/Instructor at the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre. Hours of work may include evening, daytime and weekend shifts.
Primary Responsibility
Provide a safe, enjoyable aquatic experience for users of the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre through public education, quality customer service and prevention of water accidents.

1300 & 1400 Blocks of Third and Fourth Avenues
1700 Block of Second and Third Avenues
On Wednesday, July 2,2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. there will be a water service interruption for residents of 1300 and 1400 blocks of Third and Fourth Avenues, as well the 1700 Block of Second and Third Avenues, to accommodate the replacement of a faulty water main valve. Prepare in advance by having water on hand. Consider filling your bathtub to use as a water source to fill the back of your toilets.

The City of Trail Water Treatment Plant crew will be chlorinating the Green Gables Reservoir on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, which will affect the Waneta area.
During the chlorinating process a slight chlorine smell may be detected for approximately two weeks, which will dissipate with regular water usage. This chlorinating process will repeat every three months as part of the City’s preventive maintenance program. The City does not plan to send a quarterly reminder to homes about this process.

The City of Trail is reopening the temporary Extreme Weather Response (EWR) shelter after a brief period of milder temperatures and two days of closure. The protocol was initiated in response to a drastic drop in temperatures to extreme cold levels. Future response to extreme weather in Trail will be continually evaluated according to the EWR Plan.
Over 20 unique individuals have accessed the extreme weather shelter service each night since it opened on Friday, January 17. City of Trail wishes...
