On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, Environment Canada issued a winter storm warning for the West Kootenay region, and snow accumulations of 20 to 30 cm (8 to 10 inches) of snow can be expected overnight tonight before easing off to flurries Friday morning.
Public Works crews are still cleaning up from earlier this week where the City saw over 25 cm (10 inches) of snow accumulation. We ask for your patience and understanding as crews continue to work on keeping the roads clear.

By order of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), proof of full vaccination (2 doses) will be required for all swimming activities for pool users aged 12 years and older. The order will come into effect at midnight on December 22, 2021.
To adhere to this order, pool users aged 12 years and older at the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre are required to do the following:

Update, November 20, 2021: The City's online payment system has been restored.

Due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions, the JL Crowe Grad class and the Trail Smoke Eaters are unable to pick up Christmas trees at the neighbourhood drop off areas and at curbside garbage pick up locations. Therefore, the January 15th pick up event has been cancelled.
The McKelvey Creek Regional Landfill will accept Christmas trees at no charge.
