Emergency Water Service Interruption - May 14, 2025

Update as of May 15, 2025:

We are pleased to share that water service has been fully restored following the emergency water main break on Rossland Avenue. From approximately 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14 until 7:30 a.m. Thursday, May 15, City of Trail Public Works crews worked tirelessly through the night to complete the necessary repairs and restore service to the affected area.

Residents and Businesses - City of Trail Water Conservation Notice June 1 to September 30, 2025

Effective June 1, 2025, and pursuant to the City of Trail Waterworks Bylaw, water use conservation measures are in place for all areas of the City of Trail as follows:

• Lawn watering is permitted only on odd numbered days for odd numbered premises and even numbered days for even numbered premises.
• Conventional lawn watering, typically a garden hose and sprinkler head, is permitted only during the hours of 6:00am to 10:00am and 6:00pm to 10:00pm on your designated day.

2025 Annual Water Main Flushing

Starting on Monday, May 12 until the end of July, the City of Trail Utilities Department will be flushing water mains in Sunningdale, Shaver’s Bench, Miral Heights, Glenmerry, Waneta, East Trail, Downtown, West Trail and Tadanac.

Watermain flushing is a necessary maintenance technique used to clean and disinfect the water distribution pipes and reservoirs, and to maintain proper water flow and quality.
