Change in Hours of Operation: Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre | January 4th, 2010 |
Trail City Council is pleased to announce that effective January 4, 2010 there will be a moderate increase in operational hours at the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre. Hours of operation were reduced in late June due to the anticipated budget shortfall for 2009 as a result of the dissolution of regional recreation funding.
The City of Trail is pleased to now have Warfield, Montrose, Fruitvale, and Electoral Area “A” on board as funding partners for recreation services. As a result of these partnerships, City Council is in a position to be able to add back some of the operational hours, effective January 4, 2010, as follows:
Mondays
6:00 am to 9:00 pm Full Facility
Tuesdays
6:00 am to 9:00 pm Fitness Facility
12:00 noon to 9:00 pm Pools
Wednesdays
6:00 am to 9:00 pm Full facility
Thursdays
6:00 am to 9:00 pm Fitness Facility
12:00 noon to 9:00pm Pools
Fridays
6:00 am to 9:00 pm Full Facility (NEW – one additional hour)
Saturdays
9:00 am to 9:00 pm Full Facility (NEW – four additional hours)
Sundays
11:00 am to 6:00 pm Full Facility (NEW – one additional hour)
Over the past few months, several delegations presented their concerns to the Trail Parks & Recreation committee regarding the new operational hours of the facility. In particular, there was considerable concern about how the new hours of operation negatively impact youth trying to access the facility on weekends. As a result, facility operational hours will be extended on weekends.
The City of Trail and the Parks & Recreation Department look forward to providing all users of the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre with additional service levels in the New Year.
